During the first almost 60 years of my life, I have been fortunate to see many parts of the United States and other countries, although often they were but brief glimpses. 

Odyssey

After growing up in Northern California, earning several college degrees, and serving 30 years in the U.S. Air Force, I sold my house and began living and traveling by van in April 2025. My Mercedes Sprinter van is named Odyssey.

My plan is to make my way By Wheel and Foot from one adventure to the next until I eventually have explored a significant number of the countless special and often unique places out there.

Here I share many of my experiences with a focus on the natural landscape and its many wonders, hiking trails and where they take you, historical sites, local attractions, and entertaining events.
