For this latest of many visits throughout the years, I stayed on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. I parked at Incline Village and hiked a total of 6.8 miles between 3 trails.
Monkey Rock
The first hike involved a climb through pine forest to the top of a hill on which perched Monkey Rock.

When viewed from the summit as the sun rose behind me, the lake's waters were a deep ethereal blue.

East Shore
After leaving Monkey Rock, I came to a short connector trail that brought me to the edge of the lake. I followed the lake's east shore to Sand Harbor, turned around, and then returned northward to Incline Village.

Historically, Lake Tahoe has a reputation for having pure, clean water. Its beauty surely comes out in the varieties of blue.
