Graeagle, CA

I explored a section of the Sierra Nevada mountains to the east of the town of Graeagle (pronounced "Gray Eagle"). During my time, I saw a lot of natural beauty in the mountains, two waterfalls, a lake, trees, and wildflowers. I also got a small taste of history.

Frazier Falls

After a short walk within a rocky terrain, I was met with the falls and a view that were equally impressive.

Jamison Mine

A scattering of buildings is what remains of the old Jamison mine operation which produced gold for the Sierra Buttes Mining Company from 1887 to 1919.

Little Jamison Falls

I climbed a mile up a very rocky slope before the trail leveled out. After another quarter mile, I came to a cliff edge where just across the way plummeted Little Jamison Falls.

Grass Lake

Beyond the waterfall and through more trees and plants lay a beautiful alpine lake encircled by trees and mountains.
