I hiked 4 miles out-and-back from the south edge of the Columbia River Gorge to the top of a hill above the plateau.

The Goal |
Along the trail were lots of pretty flowers, some nice trees, and a variety of interesting plants.

It was very windy by the gorge and atop the plateau although not in between.

Awaiting my arrival were amazing panoramic views of Mt Hood to the southwest, Mt Adams to the north in Washington, and the eastern section of the Columbia River Gorge.
I also saw a couple of barges on the Columbia River and several trains travel at water level along the north side of the gorge.

I spent the night at a berry farm in Parkdale, OR where I was treated with a wonderful view of Mt Hood.
