I hiked 3.4 miles out-and-back along Cold Spring Creek. The ground was a lot drier than hikes further to the west.
Rock Formation
The first part of the hike was along a ridge through the forest.

Then I dropped down along the creek.

The final section was a gentle climb that included having to scramble and climb around and over large rocks and boulders from a rockslide that must have temporarily blocked the trail.

The falls themselves were highly impressive with swirling mist that changed direction and distance depending on the wind currents.
Tamanawas Falls
At the bottom of the falls was a mound of moss-covered rocks that diverted the fallen water to both side of it, so the water almost completely encircled the mound before continuing downstream.

While I was admiring the waterfall, a chipmunk showed up and came within about five feet of me.
