It was a damp and cold day (39 degrees). As such, it was no surprise to see some scattered patches of snow near the trailhead and around the lake.

Snow at the Start |
The precipitation ranged from a mist to a drizzle to a light rain. While the forest canopy kept most of it off me for the majority of the hike, I did get wet while I was in the parking lot and at the lake.

Entering the Forest |
I used a half dozen or so small bridges that crossed streams running down the mountainside to feed the Hood River.

After the last bridge, I began an easy climb.

Then I came to a series of switchbacks as a mist seemed to settle all around.

Gentle Switchback |
Arriving at the destination, I was met with a dense fog that made it difficult to see much but shadows. I certainly did not get to see the reflection from which the lake likely got its name.
