Cape Perpetua - Yachats, OR

Cape Perpetua I stayed two and a half days in the Cape Perpetua Campground in a nice spot (one of the relatively few flat ones) next to a creek and at the end of the campground. I felt spoiled as the campground was at most a quarter full during my stay. Cape Perpetua I walked 20 minutes to the ocean twice in the evening a couple of hours before sunset and once in mid-morning. I chose the times to arrive close enough to high tide for good action of the natural wonders and also have decent lighting for the photography. There was a bit of a compromise. I again felt spoiled as I took in these wonderful sights with less than 10 other people each time. It almost felt like I had everything all to myself. I know it won't be that way in the summer. Drift Creek Falls - Otis, OR

Drift Creek Falls I completed this 3.2-mile out-and-back hike to a tall waterfall. Moss Covered Trees The main route went gently downhill out and gently uphill back. Trail Winds Way through the Forest A suspension bridge spans the chasm above and to the side of the impressive waterfall. Oregon Coast Aquarium - Newport, OR

Nice mixture of indoor and outdoor, small and large, and interactive exhibits and demonstrations of marine plants and animals including fish, sharks, birds, sea otters, seals, and harbor seals.
